Micah v.2 corruption[i]

“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah,

yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;

whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”

(Micah 5:2 KJV)

The NIV corrupts the eternality of the Lord Jesus Christ in Micah 5:2 and Isaiah 63:16.  Why do they do it there?  Because they’re antichrists. (see I John 2:23)  Everywhere else they translated the Hebrew word ‘olam’ [Strong’s #5796] as “everlasting” (e.g. Ps. 103:17, 106:48, 119:142, 145:13; Is. 45:17, 54:8, 55:3, 60:19, 63:12).  The Hebrew word ‘olam’ is even found twice in the Masoretic in Isaiah 63 (vss. 12, 16); yet they translate it differently in each instance.  The one they translate wrong (v. 16), is the one where the Lord Jesus Christ is “our father, our redeemer”.  Only where the Lord Jesus Christ is referenced to as “our redeemer” (Is. 63:16) [cf. 1 Cor. 1:30; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14; Heb. 9:12], and prophesied of (cf. Matt. 2:5-6; Mic. 5:2), do they pervert the word by poorly translating it—only where it’s pertinent to the Lord Jesus Christ’s Deity.  Woe unto them!  They fail the 2 John 9 test. (cf. 1 John 2:22-23, 4:2-3, 15)

The Holy Ghost in St. Matthew magnifies the NIV committee’s (et al. modern versions) botch by directly applying Micah 5:2 to Jesus Christ in Matthew 2:5-6.  Therefore, there’s no question whatsoever that the Lord Jesus Christ is the subject of Micah’s holy Old Testament text.  Thus we must examine such precious passages (with such profound implication concerning the Deity of God’s Son) with all the more scrutiny.  Under the examination following: the modern perverts (see Jer. 23:36) FAIL.

Of course the first thing we’d like to say is how wonderful this prophecy actually is.  Micah’s prophetic ministry took place around 700 B.C. during Hezekiah’s reign. (see Mic. 1:1)  Thus 700 years after he wrote the birthplace of the Messiah, the prophecy was fulfilled right on target—Bethlehem.  That right there (the supernatural power of the prophetic word) shows us we’re not dealing with the word of men; but the words of God (see 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Pet. 1:21), i.e. “the scripture of truth” (Dan.10:21).

The greatest verse in the Bible (John 3:16) shows us why the doctrine of Jesus Christ’s eternality is so important.  It is because through the Son of God we’re offered “everlasting life” (John 3:16).  Nothing eternal can be received through or by Christ, if He Himself is not eternal.  There’s an adage, ‘You can’t give out what you don’t have.’  That can be applied to salvation.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the only man that ever lived who eternally existed before He was born.  Why?  Because this man was and is and will always be God. (see 1 Tim. 2:5, 3:16 KJV)  Therefore no man can offer what He can—“eternal life” (John 3:15).

Hence the Lord Jesus Christ is the only true Saviour. (see Acts 4:12; Is. 43:11; Hos. 13:4)  To tamper with Micah 5:2 doesn’t hurt Christ; it hurts the person who tampers with it.  Remember Galatians 6:7-8.  When a man denies Christ’s eternality, he denies himself eternality; because the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Eternal One and only Saviour Who has the capability to offer “eternal redemption” (Heb. 9:12).

As Riplinger noted on page 340 in her ‘New Age Versions’ book, Jehovah’s Witnesses (falsely so-called) use their corrupt NWT rendering of Micah 5:2 (which is comparable to the NIV) to prove Jesus was a ‘created or lesser god’.  Blasphemy.  That’s the same thing the NWT and NIV have done with John 1:18.  It’s called antichrist Arianism, and it’s hellish blasphemy.  It’s an outrage what modern, antichrist revisionists have done to the pure and holy 1611 English Text.  JWs use Micah 5:2 to prove Jesus was created; however we as Bible-believers cherish Micah 5:2 to show the very opposite—the Lord Jesus Christ has no origin, because He’s “from everlasting”.  The NIV corrupts the text by stating ‘whose origins’, yet the KJV correctly reads “whose goings forth”.  Do you know what that means?  That means Christ has ‘gone forth’ or ‘been around’ “...from of old, from everlasting.”  So not only does the NIV whittle down the Lord Jesus Christ’s eternal pre-existence (no beginning) to ‘ancient times’ (only very old); but they’ll also introduced leaven (false doctrine [see Matt. 13:33, 16:12]) by suggesting the Lord Jesus had ‘origins’ instead of NO ORIGIN.  Thus the NIV, as usual, has taken a traditionally beloved holy scripture defining the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, and turned it into heretical trash.  Don’t be surprised; this how all modern Nicolaitan scholarship operates—under the influence of the antichrist spirit.  As we’ve stated here the NIV struck twice against Jesus’ Divinity in this holy passage of prophecy.  Yet they cannot kill the truth, Christ will manifest Himself, and the truth will endure forever.

Here’s the difference: the KJV reads “from everlasting” (Mic. 5:2), but the corrupt NIV reads “from ancient times”.  On the surface the NIV text doesn’t look too wretched, but oh the devil is crafty (see 2 Cor. 2:11, 17); and I’ll show you why this is a very wretched mistranslation.  First off, “ancient times” is not at all the proper translation of the Hebrew.  The 1611 translators rendered it right.  Secondly, whenever passages concerning the Lord Jesus Christ’s Divinity come up, we have to pay special attention to them.  Since the Lord Jesus Christ is Divine: eternality is His.  Micah 5:2 (KJV) proves this.  But notice again, the subtle (albeit destructive) difference between the KJV and NIV.  The KJV gives us a sure, sound doctrinal statement on the Lord Jesus Christ’s eternal existence.  But the NIV offers a reduced, vague statement falsely ascribing to the Lord mere preexistence.  Preexistence is not the same as eternal existence.  A certain angel may have preexistence, but that doesn’t mean he’s eternal, because he was created. (see Hebrews 1–2)  But the Lord Jesus Christ was not created: He’s the Creator. (see Col. 1:16-17)  The Lord Jesus Christ created ancient things, but He Himself is MORE than ancient: He’s eternal.  Because Satan has introduced doubt into this text (see Gen. 3:1), false prophets and antichrist cults (see 2 John 7) come in and adopt this perverted NIV—and then, because the NIV passage is ambiguous (opposed to the KJV’s directness), cults are left to come in and make up their own definition of preexistence.  Then what do they do?  How do cults define preexistence?  No surprise, they decide Christ was or is not the eternal God; but a lesser god created sometime in eternity.  That’s a huge difference between what the Holy Text of the 1611 has clearly stated—huge.  This is why I treat a NIV the same way I treat a NWT, like sewage.

¶ Here we have a set of twelve Christmas cards (NV-1499) available from Bible Baptist Bookstore (P.O. Box 7135, Pensacola, Florida 32534). [To view an advertisement of these cards, go to page 12 of the Bible Believers’ Bulletin (November, 2010) put out by Bible Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida.]  These Christmas holiday cards feature a different Scripture quotation on the front of each Christmas greeting card.  All of the Scripture quotations are from the King James Version.  One of these Christmas holiday Scripture quotations is Micah 5:2.  Micah 5:2 in the KJV clearly sets forth the Lord Jesus Christ’s eternality or eternal existence.  This is why Micah 5:2 (KJV) makes a good Christmas card; and why shouldn’t the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified in His (Christmas) holiday season?  Again, because Micah 5:2 has been quoted from the KJV we have here a wonderful Christmas card exalting Jesus Christ's Deity.  Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ.  Micah prophesied the city where the Lord Jesus Christ would be born, declared His eternal existence, and previewed His Messianic/Millennial Reign—all in one verse.  Oh course Mic. 5:2 a good Christmas card: when the KJV is quoted!  Brother, that’s a Christmas holiday greeting from the Holy Ghost, in Jesus Christ’s Name, Amen. (cf. John 5:39, 16:14)  ONLY the King James Bible can deliver such a truly Christian greeting in English.

This would not be possible with modern versions (e.g. NIV, NWT, et al.) because they've perverted Micah 5:2 to mean the opposite.  That means, according to modern apostate 'bibles', Micah 5:2 is not a good Christmas card, and Christ's Deity should not be exalted in the Christmas holiday season (according to Bible perverts).  Do you know what I say to that?  BAH HUMBUG—GO TO HELL!  Now you know why Jehovah’s Witnesses (falsely so-called) with their heterodox Westcott-Hort/B-א NWT don’t celebrate Christmas.

The holy English Bibles that preceded the King James Bible have the same reading as the AV because the men who translated those Bibles have integrity, intelligence, and true devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Geneva of 1560 reads “...whose goings forth have been from the beginning and from everlasting”.  The Bishops’ of 1568 reads “...whose out going hath been from the beginning, and from everlasting”.  These Bibles all came from the Protestant Reformation; and these Christians experienced an enormous revival that reverberates to this day.  How did these reformations and revivals take place?  They had the true Greek text and they translated it with brilliance.  They were true Protestants (and true Protestants are true Bible-believing/Bible-exalting Christians).

¶ Notice that the NIV and NWT degrade Christ’s deity from “everlasting” to ‘ancient’.  But not only that, but by changing “goings” to ‘origins’: the NIV and NWT suggest that Christ was a created god!  No wonder the NWT has that horrific reading in John 1:18.  The NIV and NWT are identical in this reading.  And their antichrist rendering of this verse agree against the Christological reading of the AV 1611.  Woe unto them that spread lies about Jesus Christ!  Amen.

When you sit back and really think about it: it is revolting that after more than three centuries of the King James Bible proclaiming the Lord’s Deity in this English Scripture (including the Great Awakening [1700’s–1800’s] in England, colonial America, and early America); false modern versions have recently pawned off on a unsuspecting religious public, texts demoting the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Christians in previous generations embraced the Divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ (the 1st fundamental of our faith) because of verses like Micah 5:2.  Now, as Chick Salliby cited as the title of his book, in these final hours before the Lord’s return, new versions threaten Christendom’s very foundation. (see Ps. 11:3)

MORAL: never compromise the 400 year-old, Protestant Reformation, Textus Receptus, English, Holy Bible (AV 1611) that built England and America.  VIZ. THE ENGLISH SCRIPTURE READINGS THE PROTESTANT MARTYRS DIED FOR.

¶ If God is eternal (which He is) and the Scriptures plainly teach that (e.g. Ps. 90:2, 93:2); and if Jesus is God (which He is) and the Scriptures plainly teach that—then what in the world is Jesus doing with “origin(s)” in the RSV, NIV, and NRSV?  Remember, the RSV inserted this same blasphemy in Hebrews 2:11.  I can tell you why these bibles have this reading... because they are Satanic/antichrist perversions of the word of God; and if you’re a born-again Christian, you need to be upholding the first fundamental of the Christian faith (Christ’s Deity), instead of denying it with false readings.

¶ The Jesuit Rheims of 1582 reads “…and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity.”  Even though that is a Roman Catholic bible, that reading is a lot better than the modern Laodicean versions!  Actually, that reading is inline with the marginal note on this passage in the original AV 1611.  And that is the reading from the Latin Vulgate which reads “diebus aeternitatis”.
